Caught feeding on bright yellow flowers, this Tiger longwing butterfly (Heliconius ismenius) spreads its wings. Found in Central America and northern South America, it is unpalatable or toxic to its predators due to its larval food plants. Because of the adverse effect, it is shunned by birds and mammals as food and mimicked by other butterflies for protection. This print comes with a decorative black double edge and is proportionally sized to fit standard frames.
